SUSA CREATION

Tradition and innovation hand in hand

Founder Gottfried Schneider was the son of a long-established family of weavers and, as a journeyman craftsman on the road, became acquainted with a newly emerging corset manufacture using mechanical looms. He recognised the future possibilities of industrial production and set up his own corset factory in 1859 - the beginnings of the company SUSA. The industrial revolution was a milestone in the development of new types of looms. From now on, exclusive luxury items became more and more bourgeois consumer goods and mass-produced goods. Thus, in 1863, the company's production was expanded to include a mechanized corset clasp and feather manufacturing facility. The modernization of the company contributed to a great economic success and so it is not surprising that further technical innovations such as the sewing machine were acquired. The sewn corset was increasingly supplanted by the sewn corset.

The family business SUSA has survived two world wars to this day and also mastered the world economic crisis. The result is a company that is now one of the leading specialist suppliers of corsetry. Today, SUSA specialises in lingerie and swimwear, with expertise in cotton, moulding and underwired bras up to I cup. The product range extends from basics to dirndl bras and functional sports bras, always with a focus on Funktion, quality, fit and comfort. All materials used comply with the OEKO TEXT Standard label and guarantee freedom from harmful substances and raw materials that are not harmful to health. SU SA also attaches great importance to fair production conditions and compliance with European social standards.
