After Iris von Arnim started knitting in the early seventies, she soon discovered her passion for cashmere, the precious wool that can be processed into extremely warming yet lightweight knitwear. Every season she proves anew that a cashmere sweater is not just a cashmere sweater, when she is inspired by innovative techniques, shapes and structures to create new collections.

The fact that Iris von Arnim owes her passion to a serious accident is a stroke of luck. In the early 1970s, the designer was involved in a serious car accident. Out of boredom, she began knitting, and the pastime turned into a business idea. She moved to Hamburg and opened her first boutique. In the early 80s, she presented unusual color combinations and intarsia in her collections and was one of the first designers to bring cashmere wool to Germany. In the course of this, the press gave her the affectionate name "Cashmere Queen". In addition to her knitwear collections, she created matching ready-to-wear garments made of equally high-quality materials such as gabardine or silk. Her personality flows into these just as much as the current zeitgeist. Iris von Arnim sees her own fashion creations, which she presents at LODENFREY, as inspiration for her self-confident customers who like to express their feminine side.
