Fashion for women with the highest quality standards

The love of textiles and knitwear was born into the cradle of Marc Cain founder Helmut Schlotterer. His parents owned a knitwear business, so it was not surprising that he also aspired to a career in the textile industry. After studying textile technology and business administration, he founded his own label in the Italian town of Carpi near Bologna in 1973: Marc Cain. Like his parents' business, Marc Cain specialises in knitwear and its first collections show the versatility and expressiveness of the material. In 1976, his father's business in Bodelshausen was converted into the production facility of Marc Cain, where the company is still headquartered today. Technical innovations with revolutionary, electronically controlled machines already offered the chance to create extraordinary fashion in Germany at that time. To this day, research and development are the focus at Marc Cain in order to be able to survive with its own production. Currently, 100 knitting machines are in operation in Bodelshausen, producing products with the latest technologies such as 3D knitting. Highest standards in design, quality and materials are the credo of the brand Marc Cain. The fabrics, woven fabrics and knitting yarns are sourced from Italy and Japan. The production process and finishing are carried out in Germany.

Perfection down to the last detail

Marc Cain head designer Karin Veit is inspired by Morocco and its variety of colours for her designs. The collections are characterised by strong colours, imaginative patterns and animal prints. The subtle clash of contradictory elements, which nevertheless create a coherent picture, characterises the fashion of Marc Cain, which is divided into six lines. Marc Cain Collections is the company's core label and combines elegant silhouettes with refined details, reflecting the current zeitgeist with style and class. Marc Cain Sports stands for modern designs with Funktionality and coolness. The Marc Cain Essentials line reinterprets classics with simple lines. High-quality materials and a reduced colour scheme make the pieces in the collection must-haves in every wardrobe. Fashionable individual pieces that showcase the latest trends in outdoor, dresses, trousers and other clothing are offered in the line Marc Cain Add itions. Since 2016, there has been a separate label for handbags and shoes, which is characterized by its own individual design language and great attention to detail. In October 2017, in addition to the ready-to-wear and accessories collections, a separate beauty line was launched, presenting three fresh fragrances.
