CANADA GOOSE

Since 1957, Canada Goose has been producing down jackets of the highest quality in Canada. Outstanding workmanship is always the focus of the company. Canada Goose specializes in cold weather, which is reflected in their coats and jackets for men and women. Perfection in the manufacture of winter jackets is the top priority at Canada Goose. Conscientiousness, care and attention to detail make the label what it is. Moving processing to cold regions helps significantly to bring development to the highest standards of quality and precision. The Canadian down feathers used in production are known for their excellent heat retention. Great attention is also paid to the design. The women's jackets are complemented with slim silhouettes and fashionable details such as waist belts or logo applications. The men's models are generally sporty, minimalist cuts with practical Taschen features. A Thermal Experience Index from 1 to 5 provides information on the optimum temperatures for the jacket. This allows the customer to choose the model that suits their everyday life.

Jackets Made in Canada

In the 1950s, American Sam Tick, with a tireless entrepreneurial spirit, decided to emigrate to Canada and founded Metro Sportswear Ltd. in Toronto in 1957. The company initially produced wool vests, raincoats and snowmobile suits. In the 1970s, David Reiss, Sam Tick's son-in-law, joined the company and invented a volume-based down filling machine: the beginning of a new era at Metro Sportswear. At the same time, he founds the Snow Goose label, which will later become the label we know today Canada Goose. A short time later, the Expedition Parka is developed, which becomes standard equipment for scientists at the Antarctic McMurdo Station. It is nicknamed Big Red. The first ascent of Mount Everest in 1982 contributes significantly to the brand's success, as Canadian Laurie Skreslet wears a parka made by Metro Sportswear. Almost 30 years later, a reissue of the Big Mountain jacket is produced under the name Skreslet Parka. Since 1997, Sam Tick's grandson, Dani Reiss, has also been active in the company and became president of Canada Goose in 2001. Under his leadership, the motto Made in Canada has been revived.

Commitment and Charity

Canada Goose has also become particularly well known for its support of winter sportsmen and women. For example, the famous dog sled driver Lance Mackey won the Iditarod and Yukon Quest dog sled races four times and was supported by Canada Goose. Ray Zahab is also fully clothed in Canada Goose during his South Pole trek and, like Lance Mackey, sets a new world record. But not only extreme athletes and personalities from film and television are supported. Canada Goose also makes a major contribution to Schutz natural habitats for polar bears, operating two centers in the Canadian Arctic that provide free fabric, buttons, zippers and other materials to Inuit seamstresses.
