The German company was founded in 1889 under the merchants Leo Roos and Isidor Kahn as the men's clothing factory Roos & Kahn in Bielefeld. Production was initially limited to men's outerwear such as coats, pants and jackets. Over the years and in the course of industrialization, jackets and suits were also added. When Günter Klasing became the new managing partner in 1960, a new era dawned: the name windsor was born and remained. Jackets, pants and coats made of light fabrics and high-quality workmanship become the brand's core business. In 1977, the first women's collection is launched and significantly changes the profile of the brand. Shortly afterwards, the brothers Uwe and Jochen Holy take over the company and integrate windsor together with the brands Joop! and strellson into Strellson AG. The company is now headquartered in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, near Lake Constance.
