SUNDEK

The classic among water sportsmen par excellence

In the 60's SUNDEK expanded its market from California to Hawaii and the East Coast. The innovative solutions such as the use of Velcro instead of zippers and colorful tropical prints on cotton, made the popularity of the label grow rapidly in a short time. During these years, many surfers were sponsored by SUNDEK to promote both the brand and this new sport that would become an avid lifestyle. In 1972, the era of rainbow boardshorts began. Thanks to their technical qualities and easily recognizable design, they soon became an icon for all surfers. Athletes like Kelly Slater, Sean Slater, Ken Bradshaw, Corkey Carrol and Mark Foo wore the shorts and helped the label and the sport of surfing grow.

The famous rainbow shorts

The Rainbow Shorts were created in 1972 to meet the needs of California surfers. The signature two-layer, quick-drying nylon and triple stitching guarantee durability. To this day, the shorts showcase their signature rainbow on the back and are one of the most widely used surf shorts on the market. Once primarily intended for sport, they have now become a beachwear classic.
