PHILIPPE MODEL

Shoes with unique recognition value

From head to toe - designer Philippe Model took this literally, because after designing creative hats for years, he switched to shoes for women, men and children in 1981. Philippe Model was born in 1956 in Sens into a well-off family, the son of a tannery owner. His mother Jacqueline, known above all for her refined elegance, introduced the young Philippe to art and all things beautiful. At the age of 12, Philippe Model created his first shoe and hat designs. A few years later, he personally appeared before the couturier Yves Saint Laurent and presented him with flowers made of leather, which Saint Laurent integrated into his latest collection. At the age of 22, Philippe Model launched its first brand and worked with the most important couturiers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Claude Montana, as well as numerous well-known hat designers. At the beginning of the 80s, the young designer created his first cult shoe called l'Elastique, which became a symbol of modern femininity and was considered the forerunner of the comfort concept of the later sneaker. Driven by artistic creativity, Model exhibited his creations in dramatic settings, as if they were starring actors in theatre productions. His creations achieved fame in the Suite Royale de Le Maurice, where Salvador Dali also stayed. It was here that Model's new passion for interior design was born. At the beginning of the 90s, Philippe Model is not only the director of his own brand, but also takes over the artistic direction of famous fashion houses such as Lanvin, Kenzo or Dior. The Metropolitan Museum in New York, the National Gallery of Australia and other important museums in France, Holland and Spain exhibit some of his creations.

Under the label Philippe Model Paris, the exceptional fashion designer launched his first sneakers, which are a tribute to the city of love. Meanwhile, the variety of Philippe Model shoes is multi-faceted: from casual high top sneakers to trendy camouflage sneakers - fashionistas love his designs.
