Etro: Extravagant patterns with recognition value
In 1968, Gimmo Etro founded a small fabric weaving mill in Milan with his wife Roberta. Here, the company founder was able to turn his penchant for exclusive prints and high-quality fabrics into reality. Since 1983, the label has gained reputation in the fashion world not only for its popular paisley prints and colorful ethnic patterns, but also for the high quality of its fabrics. To this day, most of the production still takes place in the Milanese manufactory. Since 1990, the company has been managed by the next generation of the Etro family. Together, the four siblings run the successful family business under the motto "a nuova tradizione".
