The luxury winter fashion label was founded in 1952 by the two Frenchmen René Ramillon and André Vincet, originally intended as a brand for professional mountaineering equipment. Today, Moncler is one of the leading brands in the winter fashion segment. Especially the high-quality Moncler jackets with the stylized Moncler rooster logo are emblematic of the luxurious brand and enjoy great popularity. Whether down coats, parkas, winter blousons or airy windbreakers, the Moncler label always makes a fashion statement with classic jackets and coats.

MONCLER

Moncler designer fashion - roots in the French Alps

In 1952, French entrepreneur and mountain sports goods manufacturer René Ramillon founded Moncler. Together with his friend, Grenoble-based sporting goods retailer and ski instructor André Vincent, Ramillon initially developed sleeping bags, tents and an anorak. At a time when travel and winter sports tourism were taking off, the company achieved commercial success and rapid growth despite its small portfolio. Soon all the label's products were adorned with the stylized Mont Aiguille. The first down jackets were produced for miners to protect them from the cold in the mountains. Mountaineer and pioneer Lionel Terray recognized the potential of these jackets and so, in the early 1950s, the "Moncler pour Lionel Terray" collection was born. In 1954, the first climbers of K2, Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli, wore Moncler down jackets as equipment for their Karakorum expedition and Terray also repeatedly resorted to Moncler jackets for his expeditions. The big breakthrough came in 1968 when Moncler was named the official outfitter of the French Alpine Ski Team. At that time, the now-familiar stylized rooster was included in the logo. In the 1980s, the company finally transformed from a manufacturer of professional mountaineering gear to a lifestyle brand. Initially limited to winter fashion, practical functional clothing became fashionable sportswear. It was not until 1999 that a complete fashion collection was finally presented.

Collection diversity

Moncler has always stood for creativity and innovation, while always remaining true to its heritage and DNA. This is also reflected in the brand's many different collections. In addition to the main collection, there is also the Moncler Grenoble collection, which features alpine sportswear and aims to emphasize the connection between Moncler and its roots. The Enfant children's collection is a reinterpretation of the adult collection and features the most famous models in miniature. Gamme Rouge and Gamme Bleu, the more exclusive and expensive designer collections for men and women, were discontinued in 2017 and replaced by the Moncler Genius collection. Together with guest designers such as Simone Rocha, the house introduces a new Genius project every month. Moncler's product range has continued to expand over the years and now includes down jackets as well as knitwear, footwear, leather goods and accessories.

A selection of the highest quality

materialsDown is the key element in the world of Moncler
.
Moncler products are made of 90% goose down and only 10% feathers. This high percentage of down is a guarantee of high filling power and therefore also a guarantee of lightness, thermal capacity and the good insulating properties. Besides down, Moncler is also known for its innovative types of high-performance nylon, which is used for the production of outerwear. Finest high-density nylon makes it possible to produce warm down jackets that weigh a bit less than a sweater. All raw materials are matched to meet the highest standards of quality, which is why all materials are constantly subjected to rigorous testing. Innovative materials alongside functionality and unusual cuts and colors make Moncler products for women, men and children so special.
